Christmas in Stevenage

The Stevenage Christmas Lights Switch-On last Thursday marked the start of Thursday late night shopping in the town centre, with most major stores and the Westgate Centre open until 8pm. Visit the Shop Directory for individual store opening times. Stevenage Indoor Market will open every day from 10 December until Christmas Eve.
Christmas in Stevenage, in association with ASDA, will be bringing plenty of festive fun to the town centre right through December, with Christmas street entertainment, carol singing, Father Christmas and an opportunity to win some early Christmas treats with Stevenage's "Great Christmas Giveaway". Look out for details in the local press, tune in to Chiltern Radio or pick up a leaflet in town centre stores for your chance to win some fabulous gifts!
The Chiltern Thunders will be in Stevenage town centre every Saturday until Christmas! Show them a shopping receipt and it could be the one that's paid off! One receipt up to the value of £500 will be chosen at random every week from all those entered between this Saturday and Saturday 20th December as part of the Stevenage town centre and Chiltern Radio "Jingle Bills" Christmas incentive.
The Rotary Club will be bringing Father Christmas and his Sleigh to the town centre on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th November.
Carol Singing performances will take place in the town square by the children of Trotts Hill School on Wednesday 3 December at 10.30am and St Nicholas School on Tuesday 9th December at 2pm. The Stevenage Sea Cadets will sing accompanied by a band on Sunday 14th December and the Citizen Advice Bureau will be entertaining shoppers with a carol singing performance on Thursday 18th December.

Westgate - Keeping Christmas Traditional
Come and visit Santa in his traditional toy shop grotto, which
is now open every day until Christmas Eve. Opening hours are:
Monday-Friday 12pm-5pm, Saturday 9.30am-5.30pm and Sunday
11am-4pm. There are free chocolate lollies for the first 500
children and if you pick up a leaflet in any Westgate store you
can receive £1 off the normal entry fee of £4 to Santa’s grotto
on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays in November.
Boys and girls don’t forget to write your letters to Santa.
Santa’s post box will be available until Thursday 18 December.
Post your letter and receive a personal reply from Santa
himself.
Join Santa for Late Night Tea on Thursday 4, 11 or 18 December
in Café Manhattan from 5.30pm-6.30pm. For only £5.99 children
can enjoy a cooked meal, ice cream, balloon model and gift from
Santa. Visit Reception to book your place.
Late night shopping officially starts on Thursday 20 November,
when most stores will be open until 8pm, and continues every
Thursday until 18 December. Plus we have two extra late night
shopping evenings on Monday 22 and Tuesday 23 December for all
those last minute Christmas presents you may have forgotten!
Join us for free mince pies during late night shopping evenings
on 20 & 27 November and 4 & 11 December or enjoy freshly roasted
hot chestnuts on 18 December from 2.30pm-7.30pm.
Meet our traditional toe-tapping Victorian Shoe Shine Boys on
Sunday 23 and 30 November between 11am-4pm and give your shoes a
free sparkle this Christmas.
Plus on Saturday 6 and 13 December, our traditional Bell Boys
will be on hand to help customers carry all those heavy
Christmas shopping bags from 11am-4pm.
Every late night in December, customers spending over £10.00 can
claim their free traditional Christmas gift. Customers will need
to take their till receipts to the customer service desk by the
scenic lifts.
