Blaze a Trail into Stevenage
We've been attacked by Pirates and defended by Knights in shining armour. This year, Cowboys and Indians will be whipping up a storm in a tepee! Dust off your Stetsons and sharpening those bows and arrows as the Wild West rides in to Town! Join in the fun from 11am in the town square.
Due to the gold rush south, the western town of Stevenage has been growing, both in size and prosperity. Ex-confederate Officer Col William J Blythe has been running the town and making a fortune with his gambling business. Now, due to the increase in population, the state government has dispatched a Sheriff to clean up the town and curtail the Colonel's illegal gambling. This sets the scene for a dramatic showdown as Colonel Blythe hires the notorious gunslinger Ringo from the Dalton Gang to "take care of the Sheriff". Who's the fastest? Only time will tell as these two fighters from separate sides of the law clash .......

Prince's Trust - A Mile of Pennies - Saturday 18 July, 10am-3pm, Town SquareThe Prince’s Trust staff, benefactors,
and volunteers, in conjunction with the Stevenage Mayor, will be
holding a major fund-raising initiative in the Town Square.
The plan is to achieve a ‘Mile of Coins’, near the fountain, and
to have the ‘Challenge’ taken up by the various Mayors and
Chairmen of Herts and Beds, in their respective towns, to see
who can produce the largest sum in coins laid on the day.
To save space, the coins will be laid in eight rows – so only a
distance of 220yds has to be achieved. Each row is to be
‘sponsored’ for a very modest amount by a local company and
Awards are to be presented to those who reach the highest figure
for their line of coins. Any company match-funding the total
amount raised in their town, will receive a special Award.
Corporate involvement on the day is actively encouraged, and
staff may wear company uniform or tee-shirts to show their
support for The Prince’s Trust. The highest amount of the
day, reached by any participating town, will also receive the
‘Challenge Trophy’ - which they will keep until the event is
repeated next year.
To sponsor a line of coins, and have your staff participate on
the day, contact event coordinator, Alex Lang –
