St Georges Indoor Market Food Court

Come and enjoy an exciting range of different foods in Stevenage town centre at the new food court located in the indoor market in Stevenage town centre. Delicious Afro-Caribbean, Oriental and Mediterranean food, hand-made pies and quiches and fresh juices and coffee are just some of the mouth-watering snacks on offer. Opens Wednesday 27 August.

Stevenage Christmas Lights Switch-On 2008

This hugely popular event will take place in the town square on Thursday 20 November. The fun starts at 4pm with a fantastic line-up of entertainment, games and competitions on the roadshow stage, including a sneak preview of the Stevenage Christmas pantomime, Jack in the Beanstalk.

Face painting, funfair rides, free balloons and giveaways is guaranteed to bring a sparkle to the evening and Santa and his Sleigh will travel through the town centre at 5.30pm with free sweets for everyone. At 6.30pm, the Mayor of Stevenage will join the panto cast on stage to light up the town for Christmas.

The Stevenage Christmas Lights Switch-On kick-starts Thursday late night shopping in the town centre, with most major stores and the Westgate Centre open until 8pm. Christmas in Stevenage, in association with the ASDA store, will be bringing plenty of festive fun right through December, with Christmas street entertainment, carol singing and a chance to win some early Christmas presents with our many Christmas competitions and incentives.
